Susan Channing-Lloyd owns, operates, and resides at Ellrick Farms.
I was born and raised in the horse world, literally. I got my first taste of the show ring at the age of 3 in a lead-line class with my mother, Elizabeth Channing. She had trained in Germany with Egon von Neindorff and Colonel Hans Handler, Director of the Spanish Riding School in Austria. With her leading the way, I moved on to a very successful career of showing ponies and then graduating on to horses. My passion and love for this business never wavered.
At the age of 18, I turned that passion and knowledge into a full time professional career. After years of teaching out of other people's facilities, I knew it was time to have a farm of my own. In 1996, Ellrick Farms became a reality. Some days it's not easy wearing 3 hats: owner, trainer, manager, but at the end of the day, I can't imagine ever doing anything else.
